Exhibition
An integral part of the Zlín Region’s Cultural and Creative Center at the Čipera Villa is a permanent exhibition curated and operated by the Regional Gallery of Fine Arts in Zlín.
Exhibition on the first floor
The installation on the first floor of the villa primarily evokes the period of 1942–1945, when Dominik Čipera (1893–1963) lived in this exceptional building together with his family.
In his study, the glass-fronted sections of the original built-in bookcase contain reproductions of period photographs that offer a glimpse into the life of this prominent figure in the Baťa Company’s management and his family, as well as the original appearance of the study after the villa was completed. The presentation is complemented by publications and documents relating to interwar Zlín and its development. The adjacent room tells the story of the inhabitants of the house, who lived here for a short period of three years. After 1945 they were persecuted and forced to leave their homeland to never return to live there.
Exhibition on the second floor
The life of Dominik Čipera and the concept of housing in the context of the Baťa Company
On the second floor, the exhibition features two additional sections. The first uses a timeline, period photographs, archival materials, and accompanying texts across 15 display panels to present the life story, public career, and national significance of Dominik Čipera, as well as his legacy.
The second section uses 17 panels to introduce visitors to the concept of housing in the context of the Baťa Company and villa architecture in Zlín up to 1945. It also focuses on the history of the construction of the Čipera Villa and its conversion into a cultural and creative center. The exhibition includes period construction drawings and an architectural model of this elegant building.
